Being primarily a Designer / Manufacturer of grip extensions and having a line of popular grip extensions for GLOCK I spot check grip extension batches coming out of a mold run. This was a daunting task becaBuse there is not a product on the market that would safely and efficiently remove a Grip Extension from a GLOCK Magazine. Primative tools used for the disassembly of magazine base plates and other accessories can damage the functionality of the magazine, wasting time in the process.

This is a magazine I picked up at a local gun shop and I can’t vouch for why this happened. Was it because the magazine plastic became brittle or someone put excessive pressure on the magazine while removing the base plate or grip extension?

With some thought and assistance from my Cad Designer I was able to come up with a fail-safe process to remove every accessory from a GLOCK magazine quickly, safely and without having the potential of damaging the magazine or my hands in the process. The MagCamWizard was born out of this need. Necessity truly is the mother of invention.

After 3D printing 4 different models of the MagCamWizard we were able to do the provisional patent pending and get 12 months of market testing. I rented a table at the Tucson Sporting Good Trade Show and almost every armorer and gunsmith bought one. Now 18 months later I have a full utility patent and we are ready to bring it to everyone.

While the angled front edge allows for the easy installation of GLOCK compatible accessories like Grip Extension and Base Plates taking the same accessories off of the magazine is not. The MagCamWizard overcomes this issue while preserving the 90 Degree tab edge during disassembly.
